Loweswater Village Hall

With stunning views over Crummock Water in the English Lake District, up the Buttermere valley and across the surrounding high fells and peaks, there can be few village halls that offer such an impressive vista!

Nestled in the wooded Vale of Lorton, amongst the hills of North West Cumbria, with easy access to the A66, the M6 and the northern lakes, Loweswater Village Hall offers a social and business venue for wedding receptions, parties, dances, community activities, meetings and leisure & sports activities.

Built in 1839 and starting life as the village school, the building was converted into the village hall in 1956. The facilities include a large function room with portable staging, an adjoining small function room, toilets, a well-equipped catering kitchen and car park.

Local Loweswater facilities include the famous Kirkstile Inn, with accommodation and home of Loweswater Gold beer, the historic St Bartholemew’s Church and the fells surrounding Loweswater Lake and Crummock Water, which are all within a short walk.

The ideal venue for wedding receptions, parties and social, leisure & business events

With 100sq m of floor space in the large function room and 36sq m in the small function room the hall can offer a flexible combination of floor spaces for participants and caterers.

The large function room has a capacity for 120 in close seating format and for 90 seated at tables.

Three foldaway stage platforms, (2440mm x 1220mm each and variable heights), offer a flexible option of layouts.

The hall has 110 padded chairs, 10 large tables (1820mm x 760mm) and 10 small tables (1220mm x 680mm), with crockery and cutlery for 90 place settings.

The recently refurbished kitchen has a catering cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave cooker, filter coffee machine and crockery dishwasher.

Male and female/disabled toilets.

Car parking for approximately 25 cars with possible overflow capacity by arrangement.
